About Us

The Rev. Dr. Walter and Robyn Steele serve the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in East Africa.

Walter serves as academic dean and professor of Bible and Confessions Studies at Neema Lutheran College in Matongo, Kenya. He also serves as an advisor in curriculum development for schools throughout the region. 

Robyn serves as a Nutrition Educator for East Africa, where she teaches nutrition and works with deaconess students. Robyn is also working throughout the region as a member of the Shared Ministry Team.

Walter holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Theology and Culture from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, as well as Master of Divinity, Master of Theology and Master of Sacred Theology degrees, with emphases in biblical theology and pastoral practice.

Robyn is a registered dietitian, with a degree in nutrition from New Mexico State University, and a member of the Academy of Dietetics and Nutrition.The Steeles have two married adult children and four grandchildren, who live in the U.S.
